Since the enactment of the Organic Law to Promote and Protect Free Competition in Venezuela on January 13, 1992 (Pro-Competition Law), our Firm has handled important cases related to this matter, both in the prior analysis and execution of significant mergers and acquisitions within the limits allowed by the Law, as well as in different proceedings and administrative inquiries opened by the Superintendence for the Promotion and Protection of Free Competition to different private commercial companies.

In recent years, we have responded to a large number of inquiries regarding the need to inform or request authorization from the aforementioned Superintendency on the occasion of multiple cross-border mergers and acquisitions that include significant shareholding changes in holding companies that own companies operating in Venezuela, among other countries.
